OUR HISTORY

Conscience International began as an emergency medical response to the siege of Beirut in 1982, and was incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit charity.  The organization was founded by Dr. James Jennings, a professor of Middle East History and Archaeology with long experience in the Middle East.  Dr. Jennings received his PhD from the University of Illinois, and was awarded an honorary doctorate in Hospital Administration by the Second State Medical Institute of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

RESOURCES

Conscience International has several kinds of resources, all consisting of people.  First are the volunteers who go to dangerous places to help out in emergencies.  Next are our local helpers in each country, both individuals and organizations, help us operate in difficult environments.  Finally, there are donors who make it all possible.  By joining hands and working together, we form a community of interest, dedicated to helping some of the world’s neediest people.
