This summer, not long before the U.S ordered all non-essential government personnel out of Haiti, Conscience International sent a team to Les Cayes, on the western Tiberon Peninsula, where we have been rebuilding homes, reroofing houses, and feeding families since the 2010 earthquake and the 2016 Hurricane Matthew left families living in the open air--virtually homeless.

Despite the expanding danger that has impacted Haiti for the past two years, Project Director Kenny Phillips, and long-time Haiti advocate and volunteer, Annie Drake (formerly of Atlanta, GA, now living in Costa Rica), were determined to get aid to families living on the brink—particularly women and children who are struggling for survival in the midst of additional unrest and a weakened supply chain of life essentials.

Volunteer Annie Drake is dedicated to helping Haiti

Collaborating with our local partners in San Luis del Sur our team visited the communities where Conscience International donors like you are helping families get back on their feet. They delivered wood for fuel and purchased nets and fishing gear to help fishermen return to the business they lost.  In Grandeau, two proper sanitation facilities (pictured) for a school have been built to prevent the spread of deadly infections, and our team distributed more than 200 bags of food to families who can no longer afford the increasing prices due to dwindling supplies.

These families need your support to survive and to give a hope and a future to innocent children. They study in a make-shift classroom under the guidance of competent teachers our team met and interviewed. We are asking for your help – in any amount —  to build a secure food storage unit for the school in Grandeau and a sanitary kitchen so hungry children can benefit from healthy meals at the school that is seeing a growing student enrollment.

Please consider a donation while we can still get aid to these desperate people – in any amount— on our secure website page here or by check to: Conscience International, PO Box 1163, Alpharetta, GA 30009

THANK YOU!
