When Conscience International SE Asia Program Director Richard Sarker, and his wife Mary Ann, visited his native village of Shambhuganj in February to oversee the progress of the village’s school built by Conscience International in 2012—and to establish a new school library-- they were surprised with a visit from one of the school’s first students, Riddhy, pictured at right, about age 7.

After the fifth grade, the highest level currently available at Shambhuganj, Riddhy enrolled in a school further away, determined to continue her grade levels. Covid closings delayed her education for two years but that has not discouraged her. Riddhy, now 17, (photo left) is completing high school and plans to attend college next year.
Possibilities that may never have been open to her began in a poor village in the first school her village ever knew. From 85 students in 2012 to nearly 300 today in two buildings built by Conscience International donors, enrollment increases every year. Expansion is needed so more children, eager to learn, can have that opportunity. Please help us lift more bright children out of poverty so they can reach their full potential.
