In Guatemala: Life-sustaining and educational development programs for rescued kids

Taxisco: It began in 2018 when communities awoke one Sunday morning to find they had little time to escape the fire and ash flowing from the most active volcano in Guatemala--Volcan Fuego. On that day, it would claim more than 200 lives and leave many more homeless.

Conscience International was among the first on the scene, rescuing families and setting in motion a plan to build a new community in Taxisco, far away from the volcano. Over the next three years, under the direction of team leaders Kenny Phillips and Dr. Jurguen Kiehnle, we built 14 homes, free to 14 families, then we built a community center. In 2022 a new development phase was added, aimed at providing long-term, self-sustaining alternatives, such as agriculture projects, for low income families living in and around the housing development—and we sent children to school.

Although we do not have a school in the village, we are supporting children who attend vetted schools nearby. For those families who cannot afford the school fees, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, lunch money, and much more, we are aiding when we can. Please help us to continue educating children who have so little to become strong, self-sustaining adults.

Please help support one of these tax-deductible programs – in any amount— on our secure website page here or by check to: Conscience International, PO Box 1163, Alpharetta, GA 30009

THANK YOU!
