Conscience International has had staff on the ground in Romania and Ukraine since the first refugees began crossing the Danube in February, 2022, fleeing the war and looking to rebuild their lives in a foreign country where the language and the culture are not their own. Two of our young men from the USA are in Iasi where they have established ESOL classes for adults and teenagers, and have opened a Youth Club for cultural activities.

While Romanians speak excellent English, an accepted universal language, Ukrainians do not speak Romanian. Knowing English helps these refuges navigate daily life while living in Romania, and opens up opportunities for work and education. A Conscience International staff-designed ‘survival’ course for beginners and an advanced course for practical skills, like interviewing for a job and for academic inclusion, has been well received. The youth program gives kids and teenagers a place to go, integrate with local young people, and give some relief from what is happening in their homeland.
Please help support one of these tax-deductible programs – in any amount— on our secure website page here or by check to: Conscience International, PO Box 1163, Alpharetta, GA 30009
THANK YOU!
