Houses burned, families tortured, a tribal Muslim group forced to flee their native Myanmar where they have lived since the 8th century—ethnic cleansing at its worst. Myanmar refuses to recognize their existence. Now they exist in huts in refugee camps throughout Bangladesh……facing hunger and hopelessness with each new day.
Children suffer the most. It is heartbreaking to see little boys, with neatly trimmed hair, rush into the street, showing their ration cards that should qualify them to receive food—but there is so little and some days there is none. Mothers, many of them on their own, with little to feed their babies.
Conscience International teams have been to the refugee camps five times this year so far-- distributing truckloads of food. We will go back to distribute more, but we need your help.
